FAQ
What happens at a Kirtan Experience?
We settle in together. The kirtan leader begins singing a mantra, and we listen. Then we sing it back. As our voices rise together, we fill the space with ancient yet familiar sounds... and that’s just the beginning. You’ll have to come to experience the rest!

Do I need experience?
No experience needed. Don’t worry about your voice or pronunciation. All that’s required is your presence. We’ve seen restless people settle into peace, quiet people find their voice, and strangers leave like family after their first kirtan.

Is this really meditation?
Yes, but not the silent kind. Instead of battling thoughts, Yoga Sound does the work—bringing peace, joy, and connection.

Is meditation supposed to be this much fun?
Yes! Meditation doesn’t need to feel hard—it should be easy and joyful. With sacred sound, you feel calmer, joy awakens, and your heart feels light.

What exactly are we singing?
Sacred Yoga Sounds—mantras and prayers sung for thousands of years. They’re names and qualities of the Supreme, invitations for peace, calls for love. They have the effect of purifying the mind and heart and enabling everyone to taste the nectar of inner peace, real happiness, and joy.

Do I need to believe anything specific?
No. These sounds work regardless of your beliefs. They’re older than religions, deeper than doctrines, and touch something in us beyond thoughts and worries.

What if I don't know the words?
No problem. The mantras are simple and easy to follow. They are also projected onto the screen. Don’t worry about pronunciation.

How much does it cost?
The Kirtan Experience is offered freely by donation. We believe these ancient practices should be available to everyone, so give whatever feels right to you.

What should I bring?
Just yourself, maybe friends or family. Dress comfortably for sitting and dancing. This is a live-crafted music event so there’s no need to bring instruments or yoga mats. Comfortable pillows and seating are provided.
